Maja

Milton "Maja" Jurado finds himself thrust into the Chicano/a Art Movement upon arriving in Los Angeles in the 1970s. Leaving behind his home in Quito, Ecuador for a chance at being an artist and openly queer, Maja finds himself surrounded and inspired by many of the famous Chicano/o Art Movement artists of this period. In this film, Maja reflects on the impact the movement has had on his life and art, all while he challenging the way people view and appreciate Latinx art today.
